Ingredients:

  • 1 cup distilled water
  • 2 tablespoons witch hazel (or 80+ proof vodka, as a preservative and to help oils mix)
  • 20 drops cedarwood essential oil
  • 15 drops rosemary essential oil
  • 10 drops eucalyptus essential oil (optional, for extra tick and insect repelling power)
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable glycerin (optional, helps oils disperse more evenly)
  • A small spray bottle (preferably glass)

Directions:

  1. Prepare the bottle: Add the witch hazel (or vodka) to your spray bottle first. This helps the oils mix better with the water.
  2. Add essential oils: Drop in the cedarwood oil, rosemary oil, and eucalyptus oil if you're using it.
  3. Optional glycerin: Add vegetable glycerin if you have it. This step is optional but helps the mixture stay blended longer.
  4. Top with water: Pour in the distilled water, filling the bottle almost to the top. Leave a little space to allow shaking.
  5. Mix: Shake well to combine all the ingredients.
  6. Use: Shake before each use and spray liberally on clothing, shoes, socks, and exposed skin (avoiding eyes, nose, and mouth). Reapply every couple of hours if you're spending time outdoors.

Tips:

  • Patch Test First: Always test a small amount on your skin first to make sure you don't react to any of the oils.
  • Storage: Keep the spray in a cool, dark place and use within 2–3 months for best potency.
